.Weipa Calcined Bauxite has a particularly interesting earthy color mix. This extremely hard mineral is mined at Weipa in Far North Queensland. Calcinated Bauxite can be used in mixed media, collography, Architectural animation, 3D 3d architectural models, collage and for adding texture to paintings etc. It is extremely hard. Mix with impasto medium, gel medium or mett gel medium to create texture; for the best adhesion it is important not to make the mix too dry.
The Calcined Bauxite has the largest size particle in the Derivan Range of dry mediums, most random-sized and shaped pieces. It is for people who want to add very pronounced lumps and bumps to their painting surface. Usually then painted over as an impasto texture
